The lyrical concept:
In 64 A.D. a devastating fire destroys Rome. Emperor Nero himself is said to have set the fire
and, enraptured by the sight of the flames, recited his ballad of the burning of Troy. However
this claim is diputed by many historians, who point out that there is no solid evidence to
support it. Some historians belive the fire was an accident, while others think it may have been
set by Nero´s enemies to descredit him. Regardless of the cause, the fire was a major disaster
that had a lasting impact on the city an its people.

The lyrical concept:
On October 23, 79 A.D., the greatest tragedy of the ancient world occurred with the eruption of
Mount Vesuvius and the subsequent burial and extinction of the cities of Pompeii and
Herculaneum. Between 3.000 and 4.000 people died in Herculaneum, and around 8 bis 10.000 in
Pompeii. According to current knowledge, the inhabitants did not know that they were living at
the foot of a volcano. There was no visible crater, no eruptions.
A tremor, or "scream of the volcano," is a sustained release of seismic and infrasonic energy
that often precedes or accompanies a volcanic eruption. Scientists have succeeded in making the
sound produced by the tremor audible to humans.

After the complete failure of the 4th crusade, several preachers believed that only a movement
of the innocent and the poor would be able to reclaim Christ's tomb. In 1212, thousands of
children, youth and adults from Germany and France
set out on an unarmed crusade to free Jerusalem. After only 5 months, the Children's Crusade
ended in a cathatrophe. None of the participants reached the Holy Land.
